Liberated Love

April 26, 2018

What do you think about when the word liberation comes up? It's more than simply saving someone who is in a crisis. There is much more to liberation. Jesus on the cross is an excellent example of how we are liberated, make a new, cleansed of our sins. Liberation also takes form in helping the poor, those in need. Through Jesus, we see the possibility of liberating women, bringing about a more equal status to all mankind through acknowledging that everyone sins, everyone is corrupted in some way. Liberation brings about equality, through the cross, through relationship, and love. Where is God's liberation present in your life?

Today's Gospel states:'Truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him. If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them. I am not speaking of you all; I know whom I have chosen; it is that the scripture may be fulfilled, `He who ate my bread has lifted his heel against me.' I tell you this now, before it takes place, that when it does take place you may believe that I am he. Truly, truly, I say to you, he who receives any one whom I send receives me; and he who receives me receives him who sent me"' (John 13:16-20).

Today's Gospel talks about how the servant is not greater than the master. All of us are equal in love and possibility. Jesus says that he who receives anyone whom is sent by God, receives Him. If we take in anyone who needs help, those who don't know God, those who need to find liberation. As God tries to work in our lives to help us be renewed and alive, God also works through us to enlighten the lives of those that are more difficult to reach. Take some time to ask God help you bring liberation to those in need.

Today's prayer comes from 'Catholic Company' a prayer for deliverance:

My Lord, you are all-powerful, you are God, you are Father.

We beg you through the intercession and help of the archangels Michael, Raphael, and Gabriel

for the deliverance of our brothers and sisters who are enslaved by the evil one.

All saints of heaven, come to our aid.

From anxiety, sadness and obsessions,

we beg you, free us, O Lord.

From hatred, fornication, envy,

we beg you, free us, O Lord.

From thoughts of jealousy, rage, and death,

we beg you, free us, O Lord.

From every thought of suicide and abortion,

we beg you, free us, O Lord.

From every form of sinful sexuality,

we beg you, free us, O Lord.

From every division in our family and every harmful friendship,

we beg you, free us, O Lord.

From every sort of spell, malefice, witchcraft, and every form of the occult,

we beg you, free us, O Lord.

Lord, you who said, "I leave you peace, my peace I give you," grant that, through the intercession of the Virgin Mary,

we may be liberated from every evil spell and enjoy your peace always, in the name of Christ, Our Lord. Amen.
