What's the Truth?

Have you ever had someone tell a lie to your face? It's not the most profound feeling in the world, especially if you can tell they are lying, or find out after the fact. We want people to be real with us, tell us the truth and be forward, and not cower behind lies, hiding their true feelings, true selves. Think about it from the perspective of a student. If your teacher were to feed you nothing but lies in their lessons, you would wind up lost, not truly getting educated, feeling lost and frustrated in the end. In the same way, we set high expectations for God, that He leads us in the truth, to the truth in our lives. God tells us through Jesus that He is the way, the truth and the life, and that through Him we will find true salvation. God is all about the truth, we just need to embrace, accept and trust in God's truth, applying His truth to our everyday lives. Do you accept the truth?

Today's Reading states: 'This God -- his way is perfect; the promise of the LORD proves true; he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him. The LORD lives; and blessed be my rock, and exalted be the God of my salvation, For this I will extol thee, O LORD, among the nations, and sing praises to thy name. Great triumphs he gives to his king, and shows steadfast love to his anointed, to David and his descendants for ever' (Psalms 18:31, 47, 50-51).

Today's reading talks about how God proves that His way is the truth, that we will find salvation in His will. God shows us His will for us, through following the Ten Commandments, the Beatitudes, the life, teachings, death and resurrection of Jesus, and paying attention to Scripture and prayer. If we don't believe there is truth in God's plan for our lives, then we are not really having faith and trusting God to lead us. It's important to believe in the truth of where you're going, what you follow, who you trust, God being the most trustworthy, the truth. Take some time today to pray and ask God to help you believe in His truth.

Today we pray:

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for showing me that You are the way, the truth and the life. Help me to believe in Your truth and trust You have a plan for me.

I pray in Your most holy name, Amen.
