Seek the Truth
Have you ever tried to block out the truth? Maybe your conscience was pushing you in one direction, but your desire was leading you astray, your pride kept you from facing the facts in front of you. God reveals to us that He is the way, the truth and the life, each a significant piece for us to find lasting love and fulfill all desire through Him. However, if you were to leave out a piece of the puzzle, for example truth, then you would be missing a key part. God shows us that He is the truth, we find truth in Him. What does this mean? Well, God is all-knowing, all-loving and shows us how we should live our lives. We see this through the Commandments, Beatitudes, the life, death and Resurrection of Jesus, as well as through our Church and leaders. God reveals the truth for our purpose in life, to seek Him continually. Are you seeking the truth?
Today's Gospel states: '"I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth; for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you. All that the Father has is mine; therefore I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you' (John 16:12-15).
Today's reading talks about how God always speaks truth to us, even if we don't to hear it or try to tune Him out. It can be difficult to hear the truth that God speaks, especially if it means facing where we've gone astray. It's important to take the time to reflect and really consider where we are in our lives, and where God is speaking truth to us in our lives, where we need to face ourselves and make a change. Take some time today to pray and ask God to speak truth to you in your life.
Today we pray:
Thank You for guiding me by Your truth. Help me to follow Your will each and every day and seek Your truth continually.
I pray in Your most holy name, Amen.
