Live, Laugh, Love
Has it been difficult for you to break out a smile during our current pandemic situation? What about finding those moments for true, eye-watering laughter? Though we've all been greatly impacted one way or another, it is important for us to be able to express true joy, to laugh. This is especially important for people of God, for those who call themselves children of God. Obviously it's easier said than done, but it's very important to try to make a constant effort, no matter the trials that you may be going through, be that job loss, anxiety, loss, depression, financial struggle, relationship struggles. The list goes on. You still need to wake up each morning, give the day to God, and make every attempt to seek joy, laughter, to love, just as God asks us to do. Have you found those moments of joy today?
Today's Psalm states: "I will sing of thy steadfast love, O LORD, for ever; with my mouth I will proclaim thy faithfulness to all generations. For thy steadfast love was established for ever, thy faithfulness is firm as the heavens. Thou hast said, "I have made a covenant with my chosen one, I have sworn to David my servant: `I will establish your descendants for ever, and build your throne for all generations.'" [Selah] He shall cry to me, `Thou art my Father, my God, and the Rock of my salvation.' My steadfast love I will keep for him for ever, and my covenant will stand firm for him" (Psalms 89:2-5, 27, 29).
Today's Psalm talks about how we need to proclaim the goodness of God continuously, spreading the joy and love to the world that God has so graciously given to us through His Son. God shows us the fullness of His love through the greatest gift, life, both through our life given to us, as well as the chance to love and seek Him in this life. Even in the lowest times where you feel the weight of the world is on your shoulders, you should find the time to smile. What brings you joy in your life? Take some time today to offer your hardships to God and ask Him to help you find the joy each day.
Today we pray:
Thank you for giving me the chance to live, love and be loved today. I offer my hardships to you and ask that you help me to praise you continuously, focusing on the blessings and joyful moments that you so graciously give to me. I ask this in Your most holy name, Amen.
