God is Love
God is love. Take some time today for Lectio Divina. Read this Gospel the first time, taking in what is happening. The second time, read through and pick out one or two phrases that stand out to you and hold them in your heart. The third time, read through and consider how God is speaking to you through this reading. Then take some time to pray and reflect.
Today's Gospel states: 'As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you; abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love. These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full' (John 15:9-11).
God loves us so much that He gave His only Son to die for us, so that we may be redeemed. We too are called to be examples of love, and abide in His love, in every area of our lives. Try to be an example of love today.
Today we pray:
Thank You for being such a loving and giving Father. I ask that You help me to embrace Your love and give that same love to others. I pray in Your most holy name, Amen.
