Bread of Life
Jesus is the Bread of Life. Take some time today for Lectio Divina. Read this Gospel the first time, taking in what is happening. The second time, read through and pick out one or two phrases that stand out to you and hold them in your heart. The third time, read through and consider how God is speaking to you through this reading. Then take some time to pray and reflect.
Today's Gospel states: 'Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life; he who comes to me shall not hunger, and he who believes in me shall never thirst. But I said to you that you have seen me and yet do not believe. All that the Father gives me will come to me; and him who comes to me I will not cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me; and this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up at the last day. For this is the will of my Father, that every one who sees the Son and believes in him should have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day"' (John 6:35-40).
Jesus is our bread of life. As long as we trust in him, we will be forever satisfied, no matter what life throws at us. Take some time today to pray and praise, thanking God for the gift of His Son.
Today we pray:
Thank You for Your love, for the gift of Your Son. Help me to forever trust in You. I pray in Your most holy name, Amen.
