Help Me When I'm Worn
Do you ever have those days that are very strenuous to get up, get going and embrace the day? With the craziness of life, it can be easy to push ourselves too far and not get the required amount of sleep, rest and really just a good break from work. I know for myself, with having so much on the go lately, it's definitely a challenge to take the time to rest. By the end of going on like this for a few days, you feel burnt out, worn down, and have a day that's very difficult to get out of bed and face another busy day. However, as burnt as we feel, it's important to keep going, to press on. God shows us that even when we are at our weakest and we don't feel as if we have the strength to press on, that we can do it. We can find the strength to be the best version of ourselves when we rely on Him to help us.
Today's Gospel states: 'At that very hour some Pharisees came, and said to him, "Get away from here, for Herod wants to kill you." And he said to them, "Go and tell that fox, `Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I finish my course. Nevertheless I must go on my way today and tomorrow and the day following; for it cannot be that a prophet should perish away from Jerusalem.' Jerusalem, Jerusalem, killing the prophets and stoning those who are sent to you! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you would not! Behold, your house is forsaken. And I tell you, you will not see me until you say, `Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!'"' (Luke 13:31-35).
Today's reading talks about how we need to be firm in what we believe, knowing and exclaiming God is with us in every area of our lives. Even on those days where we want to throw in the towel and give up, God is calling us to press on and rise to face the day and the challenges that may be ahead. Think about your faith life. On days where you feel worn, do you still put in the time for prayer, for building relationship with God? It's as essential as getting the right food, exercise and rest, even more so. Take some time today to pray and ask God to help give you strength to be at your best, especially when you fell at your weakest.

Thank You for always being by my side and helping me through each and every day. Help give me the strength when I feel weak and worn and let me be Your disciple each and every day.
