Who's Your Boss?
Have you ever had a really good boss? Someone who not only strives for the company, the team to succeed, but you as well. It helps if they are a humble individual too, making mistakes and admitting that they're only human, making it easier to relate with them and get along. You may have the opposite experience with someone who was not a very good boss, helping you to reflect on what would make them a better leader. Jesus is someone who is like an ultimate boss, someone who shows us the way and guides us to following the right path in all that we do. Jesus shows us that if we want to be a good leader, a good boss, we need to follow his commandments, love, and continue to be humble, growing in our own personal faith journeys and sharing these experiences with others. Are you on track to becoming a good boss figure like Christ?
Today's Gospel states:'And Jesus cried out and said, "He who believes in me, believes not in me but in him who sent me. And he who sees me sees him who sent me. I have come as light into the world, that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness. If any one hears my sayings and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. He who rejects me and does not receive my sayings has a judge; the word that I have spoken will be his judge on the last day. For I have not spoken on my own authority; the Father who sent me has himself given me commandment what to say and what to speak. And I know that his commandment is eternal life. What I say, therefore, I say as the Father has bidden me"'(John 12:44-50).
Today's reading talks about how we need to follow God's will for our lives. Those who believe and do their best to follow God's Commandments are doing the best they can to and will experience the most in their life. God shows us the greatest example of what it means to love, to be a leader and to lead others into faith through Jesus. We too are called to be humble, loving and give everything we can to be people of faith, to show the world what it means to be people of God. We are also called to be disciples, taking action and being leaders when given the chance, which is not always an easy task, but a worthwhile challenge. Take some time to pray and ask God to help you to be a wise and loving leader in faith.
Today we pray:
Thank You for helping me to know what it means to be a loving and humble leader through the person of Jesus, Your Son. Help me to do my best to be a good leader when given the chance. I pray in Your most holy name, Amen.
