Praise at All Times

Do you seek God in the good, bad and the ugly? It's easy to call on God in times of hurt, challenges we face, when we don't know what an outcome will be. What determines a true believer, is how we react coming out of these situations. Do we continue to praise God, thanking Him for the good things, for the things that work out in our lives, for exciting days that cause for celebration? People also go the other way, and turn from God when things don't go as planned, considering God to be 'picking on them'. This is not the case, as we know, for God is beyond our thought, any way ahead of us, knowing us from the point on conception to afterlife. Do you give praise no matter the situation you face in life?

Today's Gospel states:'On the way to Jerusalem he was passing along between Sama'ria and Galilee. And as he entered a village, he was met by ten lepers, who stood at a distance and lifted up their voices and said, "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us." When he saw them he said to them, "Go and show yourselves to the priests." And as they went they were cleansed. Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice; and he fell on his face at Jesus' feet, giving him thanks. Now he was a Samaritan. Then said Jesus, "Were not ten cleansed? Where are the nine? Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?" And he said to him, "Rise and go your way; your faith has made you well"' (Luke 17:11-19).

Today's reading talks about how Jesus sends the leppers to the priests to be healed. Once they are, only one returns to him to give thanks. They all come to Jesus asking for aid, but when they're actually healed by God's love and grace, all but one leave and go on with their lives. When we ask God for help, and there is a response, or no response, we cannot just go on with life and forget our faith. Through every situation, God is with us, being our strongest supporter, and we need to live by this fact. Through the good, the bad and the ugly, we need to trust and give thanks to God. Take some time to ask God to help you build a lasting relationship, through every moment of your life.

Today we pray:

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for being with me in every part of my life, through every situation. Help me to remember that You are always in my life, and guide me into a closer relationship with You.

I pray this in Your most holy name, Amen.
