The Challenges of Life
Do you ever feel like you're trying your hardest to accomplish great things in life, yet don't feel as if you're succeeding? Starting a business can be hard. Starting a new career path could mean sleepless nights of work. Being a student can be challenging. We all have those struggles that may take time to grow, to change. It takes constant effort, improvement, trial and error, and positivity. Sometimes you may feel stuck, but God is working in mysterious ways. If you look back at your challenges from ten years ago, I'll bet that whatever struggles you had at the time worked out for the better in some way. God is continually working in our lives, pushing us to become the best versions of ourselves by helping us to grow, to become the best version of ourselves. There's a saying that God gives the greatest challenges to the strongest disciples. What barriers are you facing right now?
Today's Psalm states: 'He who walks blamelessly, and does what is right, and speaks truth from his heart; who does not slander with his tongue, and does no evil to his friend, nor takes up a reproach against his neighbor; in whose eyes a reprobate is despised, but who honors those who fear the LORD; who swears to his own hurt and does not change; who does not put out his money at interest, and does not take a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things shall never be moved' (Psalms 15:2-5).
In today's reading, we hear more about the rules a believer needs to follow, to bring God's life, love, and truth to the world. If we do everything out of the goodness of our hearts, with the best intentions in mind, and rely on God to help show us the way, everything will work out as it should. This doesn't mean there won't be hard times or sad times that we can't explain. However, if God is at our center in every decision, then there will always be joy. God is on our team, no matter what the barrier may be, or how stuck you may feel at the moment. Take some time to surrender the worry about these challenges to God.
Today we pray:
Thank you for guiding me as your disciple and continually helping me to grow according to Your will. Help me in the barriers I face and let me move through them with love and joy. Help guide me in this mission on earth and to come out as a warrior of faith.
I ask this in Your most holy name, Amen.
