Live Life to the Fullest!

Are you living life to the fullest? Now, I don't mean following the storyline of 'Yes man' and saying yes to every single opportunity that comes you way. Doing this could be drastic and end in difficult circumstances. However, do you say yes when it could benefit your life, and the lives of other people? Do you live every moment to the fullest, trying to actually live and be active? Being disciples with a mission to spread the Good News of God, it is important that we seek every opportunity to do so, meaning we have to seek opportunity to meet new people, step out of our comfort zones and challenge ourselves to be missionary, evangelical and live to the fullest by helping others to as well.

Today's Gospel states:'For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God sent the Son into the world, not to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him. He who believes in him is not condemned; he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. And this is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one who does evil hates the light, and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does what is true comes to the light, that it may be clearly seen that his deeds have been wrought in God' (John 3:16-21).

In today's Gospel, we hear how God sent Jesus, His Son, so that we might live. This final judgement will be brought at the end of our lives, determining if we are God's disciples or if we are sinners opposing God's direction. In order to pass God's judgement, it is important that we not only recognize this gift of redeeming love given through Jesus, but that we embrace the grace and life given to us as children of God. Take some time to consider areas where you could be more actively living life to the fullest. Ask God to help you embrace life.

Today's prayer comes from 'cultivating space for God' a prayer to live life more fully:

We move so fast, God, and sometimes we see so little in our daily travels. Slow us down. Create in us a desire to pause. Help us to pursue moments of contemplation. Help us to see in a deeper way, to become more aware of what speaks to us in beauty and truth. Our inner eye gets misty, clouded over, dulled. We need to see in a new way, to dust off our heart, to perceive what is truly of value and to find the deeper meaning in our lives. All of our ordinary moments are means of entering into a more significant relationship with you, God. In the midst of those very common happenings, you are ready to speak your word of love to us, if only we will recognize your presence. Teach us how to enjoy being. Encourage us to be present to the gifts that are ours. May we be more fully aware of what we see, taste, touch, hear, and smell. May this awareness of our senses sharpen our perception of our everyday treasures and lead us to greater joy and gratitude. Grant us the courage to be our true selves. Help us to let go of being overly concerned about what others think of us or of how successful we are. May our inner freedom be strengthened and our delight in life be activated. Life is meant to be celebrated, enjoyed, delighted in, and embraced in all its mystery. Guide us to our inner child. Draw us to your playground of creation, God of life, so that we will live more fully. Amen.
