Accept God' Will
Do you ever question whether God is calling on you, or if it's Satan pulling you down? Sin is a part of our human existence and it brings us down. It causes us to doubt, to question whether God is actually calling us to be who we are, to take risks. Think of trying to build a puzzle. You have every piece together but two, and you mix up the pieces when making the final attempt. If they're in the wrong places, they won't fit right? Nothing will budge. Think then about a life without sin, every piece would fit perfectly, no struggle. However, once sin comes in, there are pieces out of place, frustrating the masterpiece. It makes you doubt, lose faith and puts your mind out of place for a time.
Today's Gospel states:'In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. And he came to her and said, "Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you!"But she was greatly troubled at the saying, and considered in her mind what sort of greeting this might be. And the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there will be no end"' (Luke 1:26-33).
In today's Gospel we read how Mary is scared at first, confronted by an angel. However, Mary is only afraid for a second. She then gives of herself completely to God's will, to bare a child no matter what the world around her would say. She doesn't stray from God's plan. She helps in making the final puzzle complete and perfect through accepting God' plan and not falling to sin. Let us all take time today to think about where we fall to sin, and pray that we can be less doubtful and more like Mary, surrendering to God's love.
Today's prayer comes from 'Catholic Online' a prayer of Mary our Model:
All praise and glory are Yours, almighty Father: You have given us Your Son Jesus to save us from sin. We praise You for choosing Mary to be His mother, for teaching her to believe Your message, for helping her to accept Your holy will. Strengthen us by Your Spirit to be like Mary: to ponder Your word in our hearts, to obey Your will, to love Your Son, to sing Your praises every day. Father, we praise You through Jesus Christ Your Son in the love of Your Spirit, for ever and ever. Amen.
