Faith in the Future
Do you ever sit and contemplate what God has in store for your life, your future? What is supposed to happen, which road are you meant to take? Jesus sets an example for us in his life. He was an ordinary man, a carpenter, for a big part of his life. He didn't start his ministry until later in his life. God called him, and it was time for his true life to begin, time to take action. Where are you right now in your life and what is the next step that you feel God is helping you to make? Being a student, there are so many opportunities and options open, so many choices. The key is to listen to God's call and determine the vocation best suited for you, with God's guidance and looking at the talents He's given to you. What is God's plan for you?
Today's Psalm states: 'I sink in deep mire, where there is no foothold; I have come into deep waters, and the flood sweeps over me. But as for me, my prayer is to thee, O LORD. At an acceptable time, O God, in the abundance of thy steadfast love answer me. With thy faithful help But I am afflicted and in pain; let thy salvation, O God, set me on high! I will praise the name of God with a song; I will magnify him with thanksgiving. Let the oppressed see it and be glad; you who seek God, let your hearts revive. For the LORD hears the needy, and does not despise his own that are in bonds' (Psalms 69:3, 14, 30-31, 33-34).
Have you ever had an extremely busy day, things piling up on top of the other? You wonder how you'll make it through to the night, but then looking back later, realize it wasn't so bad. God helps us in every part of our life, and never gives us more than we can handle. He gives the biggest challenges to his strongest followers, testing our faith, but also making us stronger. God does not ignore your desire, your longing for aid. However, sometimes, there is a greater plan for your life, something happening you couldn't have imagined. Life is the greatest gift, and also the most challenging conquest we will face. Take time to remember your greatest trials, and thank God for helping you through them.
Today's prayer comes from 'Catholic Online' a prayer for hope in the future:
Heavenly father, I am your humble servant, I come before you today in need of hope. There are times when I fell helpless, There are times when I feel weak. I pray for hope. I need hope for a better future. I need hope for a better life. I need hope for love and kindness. Some say that the sky is at it's darkest just before the light. I pray that this is true, for all seems dark. I need your light, Lord, in every way. I pray to be filled with your light from head to toe. To bask in your glory. To know that all is right in the world, as you have planned, and as you want it to be. Help me to walk in your light, and live my life in faith and glory. In your name I pray, Amen.
